Brick A Brack Designs

Brick A Brack Designs Welcome You

Hope you enjoy, I will put some of the crafts children have done from camp . Also some of the things I enjoy doing.

A bit about Brick a Brack Designs

For the longest time, I’ve wanted a place where I could showcase my work, create tutorials and even sell some of my creations. While brainstorming with my daughter, Brick a Brack Designs was born.

I find inspiration just about everywhere. This month I could be doing crochet projects and next month it could be bead work or simple crafts. I love to experiment and learn something new along the way.

During the summer months, I love to teach crafts at the cottage to visiting children and parents
. You might even see a showcased project or two made from their crafty hands !!

Ajustable Christening Gown

This beautiful crocheted christening gown is fully adjustable at the collar, sleeves and waist. It comes with a beautiful crochet head piece.

Hand wash only and lie flat to dry
Made in a non-smoking, no pet home

Introducing the Glue Tree !

This is a simple, easy, fun project that can be whipped up in no time and made from GLUE ! If you decide to do this project with young children, please be careful with the hot glue gun.

Material :
Hot Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Old Cookie Sheet
Spray Oil
Spray Paint or any other decoration

Instructions :
- Spray the Cookie Sheet with oil. (The tree will come off easier after it dries.)
- Start with the trunk of the tree. Then you make the branches to go out.

Important Note :
The trick for making this, is that all the branches have to touch one another, if not, it will go floppy and not stay in position.

- After your Glue Tree dries gently take it off the cookie sheet and wash it with soap and water.
- After a second drying period, you can decorate it however you want. Glitter, Spray Paint.. anything you want !

I started doing that many years ago. I love doing trees. And my glue gun was on, and I was doing some figures with it. Before my eyes the tree came alive. This one was in the garbage since I did not like it...Along came a lady I know from camp, and she could not believe that I had made this. She asked if she could have it , of course I said , since I was throwing it away.
So she brought it home and put some leaves at the bottom of it. She keeps telling me how everyone admires it in her home.

Have Fun and get creative !

Dainty Crochet Shoes

This pattern was given to me and came with a mould for the shoes to be starched. This was many years ago, and unfortunately I have since lost the shoe mould. Through the years, I have made quite a few of these, given away as gifts.

- It is made from crochet cotton with a 1.1 needle.
- To starch you can either use a solution of sugar and water or if you prefer, you can purchase a starching liquid from a craft store.

I’m sure you could hold the shape of the shoe by stuffing it or creating a mould of your own.
To request a copy of this pattern, simply leave me a comment with your e-mail and I will send you the instructions.
This would be perfect for wedding favours !
